Frequently Asked Questions
- Question
Do GALILEO databases need to be added to my proxy server’s exception list?
- Alternate Question(s):
-
How can I keep GALILEO from being blocked by my proxy server or filtering software?
- Answer
-
If your school or library uses filtering software on its workstations or a proxy server for filtering or caching, you may encounter problems with GALILEO access. See the Guidelines for the Use of Filtering Software with GALILEO page for information about the possible effects of different types of filtering software on GALILEO access.
If your software or proxy server provides the ability to exclude certain addresses from proxying or filtering, use the GALILEO Exceptions List for Proxy Servers and Filtering/Security Software as a reference to GALILEO and GALILEO resource domain names to exclude from proxy and filtering.
