Question

How can I locate full-text journals in GALILEO

Answer

The GALILEO Journals A-Z list provides access to full-text journals from GALILEO databases. The A-Z list is powered by the SFX software. You can locate full-text journals by either browsing for a journal by letter or searching for a particular journal by keyword or title.

Currently, there is a bug in the GALILEO Journals A-Z list that creates a discrepancy between the journals found via the browse feature vs. the journals available via the search feature. The browse feature only includes full-text journals from the EBSCO databases. The search feature will bring back full-text results from all other databases including, local databases that have been configured within SFX on behalf of your institution.

Also, users can access the “Find Cited Articles” tool to locate full-text journals and specific articles that they have full citation information for. The Find Cited Articles feature can be located by following these directions:

  1. Login to GALILEO at http://www.galileo.usg.edu
  2. Click on Journals A-Z (Magazines A-Z for Library and High School)
  3. Click on “Find Cited Articles” link in the left-hand navigation bar.
  4. Enter journal title or ISSN and select “Find Citation.”
