How long does it take for an ebook to be available to other users?

The ebooks in eBooks at EBSCOhost can be viewed or checked out, just like a print book in your library. As with a print book, the ebook is unavailable to other users when another user is viewing or has checked out the ebook.
If a user is viewing the ebook, it will not be available to other users while the first user is viewing it. When the first user closes the browser window and ends the viewing session or when the ebook remains idle for 30 minutes, the ebook system will then go through the return process, which may take up to 15 minutes. After this time, the ebook will be available to other users.
If a user has downloaded and checked out an ebook, it will not be available to other users for 7 days or more. The user who downloaded the ebook will not be able to return the ebook before the check-out period is over.
