- Answer
-
A user will receive the following error message when they select a GALILEO Express Link to a database their institution does not have a subscription to:
“The resource, [database/resource name and code here], is not available to [Institution Name] users through GALILEO. You may need to log in as another institution or your institution may have alternative access to this resource.”
Troubleshooting steps:
Check to make sure the correct Express Link Syntax is being used.
- Correct syntax: http://www.galileo.usg.edu/express?link=[4 letter database code].
- Check to make sure the 4-letter database code has not changed.
- More information on creating and using GALILEO Express Links.
Check to make sure your institution still subscribes to the database you are trying to access.
- Consult a reference librarian at your institution regarding database subscriptions. It is possible that you may not have access to databases that appear on the Kids GALILEO homepage. This page contains hard-coded Express Links to databases. You may have access to Kids GALILEO databases by logging in with your public library password.
